How to unlock iPhone without a computer

If you haven't already purchased a license please Click here to start.

This method does not require a computer:

Please note that after 11/9/07 if you restore or update your iPhone Apple will not be updating your phone to 1.1.1 but 1.1.2 which these instructions will not work with. If you already have 1.1.1 on your iPhone after 11/9 please follow these instructions.

The only thing you will need is a Wi-Fi connection. Please follow these steps very carefully. Your phone will start behaiving odd. Ignore it and move onto the next step.

These instructions will work on iPhones for firmware 1.1.1 right out of the box. You do not even need to connect to a computer to start. We suggest restoring your phone before starting with these steps. If something goes wrong just perform the steps again from the beginning.

1. On the Activation Screen, slide the bar to the right to get into emergency dialing.

2. Type *#307# and hit Call, the phone will start ringing and diplay 1 Calling.

3. On the top right corner of the screen you will see the numbers *#307#, delete all the numbers from the top right of the screen. Press 0 and then call.

4. Press Answer, then Hold and then Decline.

5. Go to Contacts and create a contact by pressing the + sign on the top right. Tap add new Url and type prefs://1f and save it. Then add another URL and type jailbreakme.com and save it.

6. Click on the prefs://1f and you can select your WiFi network. Exit by pressing home and then Call the number 0 from the emergency screen. Again press Answer, Hold then decline.

7. Select the second URL called jailbreakme.com of the contact you created and and follow the Install AppSnapp. The next thing you will see is your main home screen (Slide for emergency), just wait it out and your phone will start calling you on its own. The number on the caller ID should be the the number 1*. Slide to accept the call and reboot the phone.

7a. If in the event you reach this step and pull up a webpage and you get a blue box with a question mark instead of the actual page itself in Safari, or your phone constantly goes back to the emergency screen and does not restart you will need to restore your phone to an older version of 1.1.1 which can be done by following these directions (please note you will need an apple computer to perform 7b (if you do not have an apple computer please try an alternate method):

7b. Download this software first. Rename the downloaded file to: 1.1.1.ipsw then while your phone is plugged into your computer and iTunes is open hold down both the power and home keys until you notice the icon for your iPhone disappear from iTunes. At this point let go of the power button but continue holding the home key until iTunes gives you a message stating that your phone is in recovery mode. Press OK and then hold down option (or shift for a windows computer) and press restore. Then select the iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw file which you downloaded. After iTunes restores your phone to this version of 1.1.1 software you will get an error. On a Apple computer open the iNdependence software and your phone will automatically come out of recovery mode. If it does not unplug your phone and plug it back in again. simply follow the steps again from step one.

8. Now AppTapp is on your Home Screen so you can install SimFree v1.7 directly on the phone. Go to settings, general, auto-lock and select never. Go back home, Click on Installer, Cancel the update, go to sources on the bottom right.

9. In Sources press Edit, Add, and type in http://tinyurl.com/2qxpe6 (double check to make sure you get it right). Accept the AppTapp installer message and it will show iPhoneSimFree on your Install list.

10. After that you must go to the install button on the bottom of the screen. Click on the System folder then select BSD Subsystem, then press install. When it finishes you will see * iPhoneSimFree * as a folder on your screen. Select it and install the software. Click on the home key when done.

11. You should now run SimFree v1.7.

12. You will get an error to contact the retailer (if you get any other error but this message you need to restore your phone and start all over again). This is good. Now, send us an email with your order number and IMEI number. We will send you an email back telling you to try the software one more time.

13. Run sim free and your phone will be unlocked.
